The SOFA Tee

‘The SOFA Tee’ with art by Sandro Young. “White Shark Cafe” is known as the “Shared Offshore Foraging Area” (or SOFA) in the shark research community, and thus our brand’s namesake — the place to be in the middle of the sea! Two famous Great White Shark populations of the West Coast venture every winter and spring to an area of the Pacific Ocean, far away from their nutrient-dense homes of Farallon and Guadalupe Islands. This area referred to as White Shark Cafe, lays half way between Baja California and Hawaii. To this day, the reason for this intermingling of populations remains unbenounced to scientists. We like to think of the Shark Cafe by Shark Allies as a place for advocates of all kinds to congregate, much like SOFA, an area to celebrate like-minded advocates dedicated to uncovering and protecting the great mysteries of sharks.
