Santa Monica Bay, reaching North up the coast to Santa Barbara, is home to a nursery of Great White Sharks, peacefully co-existing with the surfers of iconic breaks like First Point and County Line. These soon-to-be kings and queens of SOFA (White Shark Cafe) love to feast on sting rays and fish close to shore, eventually graduating to the prey we all know and love, California Sea Lions and Northern Elephant Seals. Juvenile White Sharks play an extremely important role in the health of our bay, keeping the lower trophic levels healthy and in check.
